Site and Scene of Muara Town

Muara Town used to be busy with activity, but ever since the expansion of the Muara Port, the resettlement of the Kg. Majid Lama residents and possibly more police and army personnel living out of Muara area, the town became more quiet.

The expansion of Muara Port where the previous plan was to engulf the whole of Muara Town doesn't seemed to be materialized since the idea was mooted out and talked about for the last 20 years... Will the next 5 years realize that plan or maintain Muara Town as it is, remains a question.

Part of the original structure of the old shophouses (probably built during the 1960s) and the new ones (3 storey high) after a huge fire burnt 6 rows of the shophouses in the 1990s.
